At Southeastern Plastic Surgery, a facelift is a surgical procedure to improve the observable signs of the aging process by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck.

Blepharoplasty is a procedure used to correct drooping upper eyelids and eliminate puffiness of the lower eyelids. The technique brightens the eyes leaving a more youthful and rested appearance.

back to topEar Surgery (Otoplasty)
Otoplasty, is a surgical procedure used to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reshape or reduce the size of large ears.
Following surgery, the ears may throb or ache a little for a few days, but this can be relieved by medication. Stitches are usually removed, or will dissolve, in about a week. You will also wear an elastic headband for two to four weeks after surgery.
back to topNose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty is used to reduce or enlarge the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or adjust the angle between your nose and your upper lip.
Most rhinoplasty patients are up and about within two days, and able to return to school or sedentary work a week or so following surgery.
back to topLaser Facial Resurfacing
In laser resurfacing, often called "laser peel," a carbon dioxide laser is used to remove areas of damaged or wrinkled skin, layer by layer. At Southeastern Plastic Surgery, this procedure is most commonly used to minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around the mouth and the eyes. It is also effective in treating facial scars or areas of uneven pigmentation. Laser resurfacing may be performed on the whole face or in specific regions.
Laser resurfacing is a relatively quick procedure. It takes anywhere from a few minutes to one hour, depending on how large of an area is involved. During the procedure, the laser is carefully passed back and forth over the skin until your surgeon reaches the level that will make the wrinkles or scars less visible.
You are likely to experience some swelling and discomfort after laser resurfacing. If a silicone mask was applied after your procedure, it may be replaced with a fresh one after a day or two. After a couple of days, the mask will be removed and a thin layer of ointment will be applied to the skin.
Your new skin will usually remain bright pink to red in the weeks following the procedure. After about two weeks or so, most patients can safely apply makeup to conceal this temporary color change. Some pinkness may remain for up to six months.
Fraxel Laser Treatments
Fraxel Laser Treatment resurfaces the skin of the face, neck and chest promoting new collagen growth, removing damage caused by sun exposure, decreasing fine lines and wrinkles, and improving pigmented lesions. In addition, the fraxel laser is the technological leader in treating and repairing facial scars such as those left from teenage acne.
Fat grafting removes unwanted fat from one area of the body and transfers it to an area that could benefit from added fullness. This technique is most often used to add volume to cheeks and lips, fill in facial laugh lines, correct skin depressions or indentations and to enhance the buttock area. This procedure is semi-permanent, with some re-absorption by the body of the fat.
back to topFacial Implants (Chin Implant, Cheek Implant, Jaw Implant)
Facial implants are used to improve and enhance facial contours. Often these implants will help provide a more harmonious balance to your face and features so that you feel better about the way you look. They can be used to help strengthen a jaw line or bring the chin or cheekbones into balance with the rest of the face.
There are a variety of options to improve the appearance of your lips. Some may reduce fine lines and wrinkles and may include injections. To determine the best choice, discuss your needs with your surgeon.
Most people recover from injections with a day or two. If you undergo surgical implants or grafts, it may be two weeks before you are feeling comfortable.
