Financial Information

Reconstructive surgery is covered by most health insurance policies, although the amount varies by carrier. Cosmetic plastic surgery is usually considered "elective surgery" and is not covered by most insurance plans, and fees generally are paid prior to surgery. Costs vary depending on the complexity of the operation, where the surgery takes place and which anesthetic is administered.

In some cases, a procedure may have both a cosmetic and a medical purpose. For example, breast reduction may be reconstructive if the weight of your breasts causes pain or interferes with normal activities, or eyelid surgery may be deemed necessary if drooping eyelids obscure vision. In such cases, Southeastern Plastic Surgery will work with your insurance carrier to help determine coverage. Check with our Tallahassee business office if you have questions concerning payment or insurance coverage.
