Physician Performed Chemical Peel
Chemical peels can be used to help improve the texture and skin tone of the face by minimizing fine wrinkles, facial blemishes, sun damage, precancerous skin growth and acne scars.
Physician Performed Chemical Peels such as phenol peels and 35% TCA peels are the deepest type of chemical peels. They penetrate the skin deeper than Spa grade peels to address more serious imperfections such as blotchiness, coarse wrinkles, and acne scars. Compared to light chemical peels and medium chemical peels, deep chemical peels have more dramatic results, and typically only a single treatment is required. However, deep chemical peel recovery is lengthy and uncomfortable compared to milder chemical peels.
Physician Performed chemical peels are the most aggressive type of skin peels. They are an effective remedy for severely sun damaged skin, coarse wrinkles, scars, and even pre-cancerous growths. They are so powerful that only one treatment is necessary to achieve dramatic results that last for years. Because the procedure typically results in pronounced swelling, patients are advised to allow for at least a week of at-home recovery after undergoing a deep chemical peel.
Not all patients are candidates for advanced chemical peels; some patients are better served by a medium chemical peel or another skin resurfacing option such as microdermabrasion.
Physician-performed deep chemical peels provide dramatic rejuvenation. After healing is complete, the skin is much clearer and luminous, more elastic, and the appearance of deep wrinkles and severe discoloration is significantly reduced. A deep chemical peel can make you look younger, and the results can last decades without special care other than protection against sun exposure.
