Breast Augmentation Tallahassee
Breast enlargement or augmentation mammoplasty, enhances the body contour of a woman who is unhappy with her breast size. This procedure can also correct a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy or weight reduction or balance a difference in breast size.
Breast enlargement doesn’t correct severely drooping breasts. In certain cases where the breasts have sagging or droopiness, a simultaneous breast lift may be necessary. A breast lift may be done at the same time as breast augmentation or may be done separately.
Ideal candidates are physically health and have breasts that are fully developed. A number of circumstances can lead to breast augmentation including a dissatisfaction with breast losing shape and volume after pregnancy, significant weight loss and aging. You may be bothered by size or shape of your breasts or feel they are not asymmetrical.
Tallahassee plastic surgery physicians at Southeastern Plastic Surgery offer breast enlargement consultations if you are dissatisfied with your breast size or shape.
During augmentation mammoplasty, an implant is inserted through an incision made under the crease under the breast, around the areola (dark tissue around the nipple), or through the armpit. The implant may be placed under the breast tissue or beneath the chest wall muscle. Women may choose to have saline or silicone implants.
Breast augmentation or breast enlargement is an outpatient procedure that is conveniently performed in our Tallahassee plastic surgery clinic’s onsite licensed surgery center.
Breast augmentation surgery can take one to one and half hours. Stitches absorb on their own but the incisions are usually covered with tape for one to two weeks. Most patients return to routine activity within the first week but aerobic activity and strenuous upper body activity are limited for three to four weeks.
